Francis I Dinner Service circa 1900-1920, 103 pieces This is an early set of Francis I flatware. It is in very fine condition. It has never been monogrammed or machine polished. All of the pieces, except the knives, are marked with the Reed & Barton logo and “Sterling.”  Some of the pieces are additionally marked with a patent date and some with “H” to indicate heavy weight. 12 Dinner knives – with Mirror Steel blades 12 Table forks – all marked with the patent date and H (7 7/8 ”) 12 Salad forks 12 Round soup spoons- eight marked with the patent date 12 Tea spoons – all marked with the patent date and H 12 Flat handle butter knives 12 Iced tea spoons marked with the patent date  (7 ¾”) 12 Cocktail forks Two piece salad serving set  (fork 9 ½ “ spoon 9 ¼ “) Two pierced table spoons, one pierced as a fork to match spoon Cold meat fork  (9”) Sugar spoon Jelly server   When we purchased this set it had eight knives with silver plated blades and four with stainless blades.  The knives with silver plate blades are older – the stainless blades were not available until around 1920. We will hold the older knives in case the purchaser of this set would wish to substitute them for eight knives with stainless blades.
