The urn-shaped body of this jug is elevated on a low pedestal base. The handle has its original ivory spacers and is topped with a stylized acanthus leaf stop. The hinged lid has a butterfly finial. There is no monogram and no evidence of repairs, replacements, or monogram removals.

The underside is marked with the Gorham logo marks and "685."
The jug is 8 7/8 inches in height at its highest point, and approximately 4 1/2 inches in diameter at its widest point.
Condition is very good. There is a small dent at the front of the low, rimmed foot that does not affect the balance of the object and is minimally noticeable.
