Gorham's "Lady's Hand" pattern serving pieces have become increasingly hard to find.  This ladle has an ornately pierced bowl gilded on the front and back.  It measures 8 7/8 inches, and the back of the stem is marked with the Gorham logo marks, "PATENT 1868/ STERLING/ M.W. GALT & BROS."  The front of the applied cartouche at the upper stem is monogrammed "A.M.L.N./ Oct. 12 1868" in script.  The back has a later monogram that reads "S/ 1940."
