This set of 6 American coin silver tea spoons with the rare basket of flowers decoration has been assembled from two sets of three. One set was made by John Goodhue, Salem, Massachusetts, circa 1830. It has an "SPB" monogram in ornate script at the upper stem, and the back is stamped "J. GOODHUE" in a rectangular cartouche. The second set of three was made by John J. Low, Boston, Massachusetts, circa 1830 and has a script monogram "AC" at its upper stem. Its back stem is marked "J.J. LOW" in a rectangular stamped cartouche.
