An unusual aesthetic period hinged box made by Gorham, date marked 1882. The front is applied with copper and silver plants, a frog, and a flying bird. The back is applied with a flying insect and bird. The box is curved to fit a pocket which along with it's size suggests that it might have been made for small cigars.

Marked with the Gorham logo, STERLING, '75' and the date stamp of 1883 (O).
