An American Coin Silver Serving Piece, Possibly A Pie Server, Made Circa 1865 $2,200.

This was made during the short period when a few  American flat ware makers designed some pieces that appeared to be assembled from separately parts.  In this case a large leaf shaped blade with the stem continuing up to form the handle which is caped with a cast bird perched in a ring. The bird’s wings are gilded. This piece is not stamped with a maker’s mark or standard mark. The condition is very fine. The blade has a dotted surface and the edge of the blade is scolloped.
