Coin Silver Butter Dish Made by Gorham and Co., Providence RI, Circa 1860
A heavy, early, exceptionally fine, example of this form of American butter dish.
The lid of this butter dish is finely decorated with engine-turning around three circular cartouches, two of which are engraved with scenes, and the third with the monogram.
Marked with the Gorham logo used between 1848 and 1865
